Bruno Fernandes, currently with the Portugal national team for their Nations League matches against Croatia and Scotland, opened up about Manchester United’s current state. Reflecting on the team’s recent 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, Fernandes admitted that the Red Devils are not in a position to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Fernandes, the Manchester United captain, explained that the team’s focus remains on securing a top-four finish, with hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League. He suggested that while they aim to compete, the squad is not yet equipped to battle for silverware.

“Yes, I know very well that Manchester United is not ready to win the Premier League,” Fernandes acknowledged. He added that, while they have aspirations to win the title, the immediate goal is to finish in the Champions League spots. The midfielder highlighted that there is much work to be done to improve the team and achieve the ultimate dream of lifting the Premier League trophy.

Fernandes concluded that while it remains his dream to win the championship, he and his teammates understand that significant progress is needed for that to become a reality.
