Despite a challenging start to the Premier League season, Erik ten Hag has the full backing of Manchester United’s top officials. The Dutch manager, who led the team to a disappointing eighth-place finish last season, has faced criticism after United’s sluggish start to the new campaign, including two defeats in their first three games.

However, Manchester United’s chief executive, Omar Berrada, and sporting director, Dan Ashworth, have publicly supported Ten Hag, assuring fans and the media that his position is secure. United’s recent 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool intensified scrutiny, but Berrada and Ashworth remain confident in Ten Hag’s leadership.

Speaking before the Liverpool match, Berrada affirmed the club’s faith in Ten Hag, stating, “We absolutely believe in Erik and fully back him as our coach.” Although neither Berrada nor Ashworth were involved in the decision to extend Ten Hag’s contract until 2026, they have expressed satisfaction with the move and are committed to working closely with him to improve results.

Ashworth, who joined United from Newcastle United over the summer, also voiced his support, reflecting on his positive experience working with Ten Hag. Berrada echoed these sentiments, expressing optimism about the club’s future under Ten Hag, despite the ongoing challenges.

The club remains focused on building a team that can consistently compete for major titles, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. With the international break offering a brief respite, United will return to action against Southampton on September 14, where they hope to turn their season around under Ten Hag’s guidance.
